Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the National Overseas Scholarship, applicants must meet certain criteria:
- Received an offer of admission from one of the top 500 ranked international institutes or universities according to the latest QS rankings for 2023.
- Achieved at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade in their previous qualifying examination.
- The combined family income should not exceed Rs. 8.00 lakh per year in the previous financial year.
- Age should not exceed 35 years as of April 1 for the selection year.
Selection Process
The selection process involves two rounds:
- Applicants must provide their Aadhar card details and have a firm offer of admission from a foreign institution listed in the top 500 rankings.
- Merit lists will be created based on the rank of the foreign universities from which candidates have received offers of admission. Scholarships will be awarded based on these lists.
Duration of Financial Assistance
Financial aid will be provided for the duration of the course or research, up to a maximum of four years for Ph.D. programs and three years for Master’s Degree programs.
