The University of Chester is a public research university based in Chester, England. It began as a teacher training college in the United Kingdom in 1839 and later became the University of Chester. It was founded by forefathers such as William Gladstone and the Earl of Derby, as well as a former Archbishop of Canterbury. Throughout the twentieth century, the institution’s student body grew, as did the variety and nature of its courses, which ranged from animation to zoo management.
